Canyoning in the Himalayas:

Canyoning is an incredible experience for body and mind, allowing you to explore some of the Himalayas’ last forbidden places. Among Nepal’s jewels, the waterfalls in the deep gorges form a fantastic paradise for thrill-seekers.

Discover new routes, abseil down waterfalls tumbling down mountains into cool pools below, or slide down rock faces in the middle of a natural water park.

We’re here to offer you the very best: excursions range from exploratory walks to the most extreme canyoning in Nepal.
Our expert canyoning guides will abseil, jump and slide you down steep canyon walls and waterfalls to deep pools below. It’s wet and wild, and you’ll have a great time!

You’ll start with an introduction to abseiling, and we’ll teach you to descend the first waterfall on your own. You’ll gain confidence as you make your way down the next cascades, and when you reach the longest descent – sometimes up to 45 meters – you’ll be airborne in no time.

Abseiling, slides, jumps along walls and waterfalls plunging into deep pools…

Take the opportunity to explore the bat caves of Bandipur -extra trip HERE-, on the way to Pokhara along the Trisuli, where stalactites and stalagmites seem to be forming a troglodyte cathedral; discover the hidden paths in the vicinity of these caves and let yourself be guided through this small Newar town, rich in gastronomy and hospitality.

Canyoning is also one of the adventure sports we include in our team-building activities, particularly in school expeditions where students embark on a canyoning adventure, descending through narrow gorges and crossing waterfalls using ropes and other specialized equipment.

TIPS

Tipping is still very present in Asia in general, and in Nepal in particular.

Linked to customer satisfaction, it is an integral part of the country’s culture:

Regardless of salary level, tipping is considered by Nepalis as a sign of appreciation.

Its amount therefore depends on your assessment of the service. The rendering and your generosity.

During your trip

INDIVIDUAL ACCOMMODATION

TRAVEL

  • Car, minibus or private bus for road travel within the country.
  • 6-seater Jeep with local comfort for transfers on the track. Managed by local companies, the Jeeps impose Spartan comfort. Most of the time, they have several seats at the front facing the road, then, at the rear, two seats parallel to the road, which face each other.
  • Domestic flights mainly operated by Yeti Airlines and Tara Airlines.

NB: Domestic flights in Nepal are subject to weather conditions, they can be postponed and / or canceled. In the event of a problem, we will do our best to preserve the initial program. However, the stages of the trek can be adapted and, very rarely, the international flights shifted. In this case, FNV will reorganize your air transport. However, participants cannot claim any compensation and any extra cost will be on charge of the customer.

ACCOMMODATION

– During the trip: accommodation in a lodge/hotel.

  • – At midday, picnic in the fields or meal at the lodge/hotel. Their traditional dal-bhat, made with rice and lentils, is the main meal of the day. Take the opportunity to rest or take a walk. -Dall Bath Power HERE- https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dal_bhat– Dinner and breakfast at the lodge/hotel. We try to vary meals (common menus). However, the majority of Hindus and Buddhists are vegetarians.

You can refill your water bottles at the lodges, but it is essential to treat it with purifying tablets. Avoid buying plastic bottles, which must be recycled.

BAGGAGE TRANSPORT

– Each participant travels on foot with a light backpack, carrying only the personal belongings necessary for the day. The rest of the business remains at the accommodation.
It is possible to leave things at the hotel in Kathmandu and pick them up when you return from the trip.

YOUR INSURANCE AND ASSISTANCE

An adventure circuit includes risks that should be mitigated by being well insured. The assistance essentially covers search and rescue costs, repatriation and medical costs. It intervenes as soon as a medical report makes it possible to decide on repatriation. Beforehand, in regions far from medical infrastructures and difficult to access, you must accept the organization of first aid by local means (carriers, horses, 4X4, etc.). It compensates the loss or theft of luggage. The insurance protects against the financial risk of cancellation (Visa cards do not offer a cancellation guarantee).
