Mera peak

The Mera Peak is one of the spectacular mountain peaks of the Himalayas in Nepal and culminates at an altitude of 6476m which places it as the highest trekking peak in Nepal.

The fantastic journey to Mera Peak is exhilarating and full of amazing adventures. The Mera Peak approach journey crosses the most remote terrain with few villages and the superb trails cross the landscapes of Makalu Barun National Park.

This unique mountain is the ideal starting point for beginners but also a suitable training ground for those wishing to conquer Mount Everest. A challenging trail crossing natural forest paths will get your adrenaline pumping.

Located in Solukhumbu district, this mountain peak has three individual peaks in the northern, southern and central sections. The most common and ideal route is the northern part of this peak.

The view of the vast Everest region from the summit is quite incomparable but you will also be able to see Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and many others.

Makalu Barun National Park is a place of preservation and protection of nature and wildlife. You can, with sometimes luck for some specimens, observe a wide variety of endangered animals, including snow leopards, red pandas, black bears, golden jackal, Himalayan tahr, blue sheep , danfe, monal, etc.

The region’s majority ethnic Sherpa community mixes with Bhotia, Gurung, Kirat and other communities. As you will have understood, it is an omnipresent Tibeto-Nepalese culture and many monasteries and gompas show the importance and impact of Buddhism in the region.

Ghandruk- Mardi Himal

Ghandruk – Amazing Mardi Himal:

A relatively new route from Ghandruk in the Annapurna region, the Mardi Himal Trek route is a hidden gem for trekking enthusiasts.

Located to the east of Annapurna Base Camp, almost below the spectacular Machapuchare (fish tail), the Mardi Himal Trek rewards you with a breathtaking view of the majestic Annapurna Himalayan range and its surroundings. Few trekkers make it to the base camp, despite its superb location at the foot of these giants.

The route first winds through a dense forest of rhododendrons and maples, rich in birdlife. The forest clearing offers spectacular views of the snow-capped Annapurna range -extra trip HERE-, including the most spectacular ‘Fishtail’ mountain.

You’ll follow the ridge above the Modicola River, which drains the base camp.

The changing colours of the peaks at sunset and sunrise seem heavenly.

The Mardi Himal trek passes through peaceful stone villages in front of forests such as Rumre, Kalimati, the village where Brahman and Gare live. The mixed Brahman and Gurung villages are equally fascinating for learning more about their way of life and culture.

This adventure, lasting just over a week, belongs on the itinerary of anyone looking for a trek to the local cultures and incredible views of Nepal.

Manaslu circuit

Manaslu Circuit, The Admirable :

The Manaslu tour is a magnificently rewarding and admirable trek.

Less frequented because it has to be done in an organised group, this trek takes you off the beaten track through isolated villages.

Close to the Nepal-Tibet border during this trek, you’ll come into contact with the unique and typical rural life of Nepal. It’s an opportunity to witness the diversity of nature and local culture. Passing through the Manaslu conservation area, the biodiversity, wildlife and birdlife will be incredible.

On this trek, you can also approach the Ganesh Himal base camp and see the most beautiful views of the Tibetan and Nepalese Himalayas.

The highest point is Larky La Pass (5,167 m).

Here you’ll come across a variety of cultural and ethnic groups, including Brahmin, Chhetri, Tamang, Magar, Tibetan and Gurung (see extracts HERE).

The Manaslu circuit with the Tsum valley is certainly the best experience of a lifetime. This trek is the best, more natural approach to getting to know and discovering the mixed Nepalese-Tibetan culture.

You will walk through different villages inhabited by different ethnic groups and rich and abundant cultures.

Returning via the Annapurna circuit will arouse your curiosity and your desire to come back later to deepen your discovery of one of Nepal’s most beautiful treks.

The Lost Valley Nar Phu

The mysterious Nar Phu lost valley!

The Nar Phu trek takes you to remote Tibetan villages on the valley floor near the Tibetan border in the Annapurna region. This is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful areas of Nepal, which means it requires a special permit and has only recently been opened to the general public.

Nar and Phu are two different but close villages, inhabited by Khampas (Tibetan refugees), former nomadic warriors. Here you can experience their way of life at first hand.

Around a bend in the path, the view suddenly opens out onto an immense expanse of snow-capped peaks – Kang Garu, Pisang and several others. You will pass through several ancient villages and monasteries.

Outside these villages, you can enjoy magnificent views of snow-capped mountains, narrow canyons and deep gorges, but not only that! You’ll also pass through beautiful forests, walk alongside magnificent glaciers and cross the high Kang la pass (5,300 m) –extension trip HERE-.

You’re sure to come across herds of yaks or Bharal (blue sheep) as you explore the alpine Nar valley.

This is undoubtedly a Tibetan discovery unlike any other in Nepal.

Yoga in Ashram

Ashram yoga: Nepal

Explore this traditional style of yoga from the Himalayas in Nepal, known as Tantra. We offer a course designed to introduce you to the practice of yoga and provide you with an environment in which you can develop in a respectful and caring way.

An ancient science called Tantra uses specific yoga practices to expand and free consciousness from its limitations. This practice gradually awakens the kula (cosmic force) that lies dormant in each of us.

When the kundalini is activated, it moves through the chakras and brings out our highest self. Finally, the kundalini releases its higher states of consciousness in the crown chakra, granting us pure bliss.

Tantra is a five-stage system of yoga that slowly prepares us for enlightenment of body, mind and spirit. Join them on a yogic journey that will equip you with the tools to integrate and deepen your yoga practice while reaching higher states of consciousness.

You will be given the tools to fully embody yoga and its sacred teachings so that teaching becomes an organic process. Join us and you will discover the yoga lifestyle and community that has never been seen before, providing new found strength. It is spiritually based and natural, so naturally facilitates empowerment and inner change. Each student is valued in their own way and encouraged to develop their individuality.

The yoga classes offer one of the oldest yoga techniques in Nepal, founded by the great master Guru Gorakhnath (also known as Goraksanath, esteemed in the early 11th century), who was an influential founder of the Hindu Nath monastic movement in Nepal and India. This is a different kind of yoga technique that can also be practised easily by beginners.

Spiritual visits and hikes can also be added to the programme.
