Langtang discovery

Discovering the breathtaking Langtang.

Lantang is amazing in itself because, following the 2015 earthquake, the entire valley was quickly rebuilt and nature quickly reappeared.

It’s a good start to discovering trekking in Nepal, as the days are easily adaptable. But don’t be fooled: there are some great, more expensive itineraries for the more adventurous too!

This region is a haven of natural beauty.

Langtang is rich in ancient traditions and cultures. One of the best places in the Himalayas to discover Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhist culture has influenced the Langtang people for decades.

This few-day trek takes you through a valley surrounded by lush forests and breathtaking mountains.

Apart from the mountains, this is Nepal’s second largest national park – more details HERE-. This means that Langtang is home to hundreds of different plants and animals.

Not a difficult hike, but just as beautiful as any hike elsewhere in Nepal. Few hikes can come close to touching the Himalayas at such altitudes.

Not to mention the breathtaking views from Tsergo Ri.

 

Make sure you keep the surrounding area clean. Do not harm animals or plants. Do not pollute the water or the environment.

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)

The ABC, or Annapurna Base Camp 1 :

The most popular and accessible trek in Nepal is the Annapurna Base Camp. This trek takes you to the base of the world’s tenth highest peak, Annapurna I (8091m).

 

This trip is a panorama of the diversity of the terrain, wildlife, vegetation and culture.

From waterfall to waterfall, the most beautiful villages add to the beauty of the ABC trek. Not forgetting a visit to the natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet people from different ethnic groups (extra trip -ICI-). Most of the helpful people you meet in popular villages such as Ghandruk or Chhomrong are Gurungs and are very welcoming.

The Dhaulagiri Circuit: Nature At It’s Best!

This tour of Dhaulagiri, which lies on the west-central side of Nepal and stretches from the Kaligandaki River to Bheri, is a full-on nature diversions!

 

It is the seventh highest mountain in the world, culminating at an altitude of 8,167 m.

People usually think of Everest, Annapurna and the Langtang region for a trek, but many people don’t realise that the Dhaulagiri region is also a very popular trekking destination.

This trek is famous among trekkers for its exotic and challenging routes.

This Dhaulagiri circuit is one of the longest treks in Nepal, and includes both camping and accommodation. It takes you through remote villages, farmland and a rich diversity of flora and fauna including Rhododendron, Pine, Oak, Fern and many more.

The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek routes are a little tough and difficult. But the superb mountain views and unique vegetation make up for this.

This is an action trek that takes you around the Dhaulagiri massif reaching altitudes of over 4000m.

 

Every year, people plan a trek on the Dhaulagiri circuit for an exciting trip to the Himalayas.

Everest-3 passes: Giant !

The 3 High Altitude Passes:

This trek is the most popular trekking option in the Khumbu (Everest) region, taking you over three high-altitude passes. As a result, a good level of fitness is required due to the long days and steep climbs.

The trek crosses these passes and combines other essential areas of the Khumbu, such as a base camp, monasteries and turquoise lakes.

There are two possible routes (clockwise or anti-clockwise) out of Lukla, but both offer the same magnificent terrain and scenery.

As we said earlier, this trek includes three altitude passes: Renjo La Pass (5,465 m), Cho La (5,420 m) and Khongma La (5,535 m), but that’s not all!

There will also be an excursion to Kala Patthar, a famous spot for observing Everest, a well-known spot for those interested in the Everest region or familiar with the history of Mount Everest.

Two other highlights of this trek are the Tengboche monastery, the highest monastery in the Khumbu region, and Lake Gokyo, the highest body of fresh water in Nepal.

A Mystical Encounter With Buddha – Lumbini

Lumbini is one of the world’s most important spiritual centres, attracting Buddha actetes from all over the world. There are now more than 25 Buddhist monasteries there, built by countries ranging from Vietnam to France.

 

The site of Lumbini is traditionally considered to be the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. He was born on the road to Kapilavastu. Here you can study Buddhism, meditate and visit Buddha’s birthplace in the sacred gardens of Mayadevi.

The emotion is indescribable when you find yourself in this small village where Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) was born in 623 BC. You can discover the many remains that prove the authenticity of this village as the birthplace of the Buddha.

In fact, UNESCO recognised it in 1997, certifying its authenticity. Now more commonly known as Rummindei, Lumbini is located in the Rupandehi district (Terai region) of Nepal, not far from the Indian border. The site is highly sacred to one of the world’s great religions.

Rani Mahal or Ranigath Palace is a former palace and royal residence built on a rocky promontory overlooking the Kali Gandaki river by General Khadga Shamsher J.B. Rana in 1893. Rani Mahal was abandoned for a long time and has recently been restored, making it the first tourist stop on this trip.

The main places to visit are the Maya Devi temple, the Ashoka pillar and the Maya Deviian (Bodhi) ban.

These tranquil walks are flexible in terms of both days and destination. Take time out for short, exotic walks between villages, with spectacular views of the Himalayas all along the way.

And you can explore the well-preserved Newari architecture of the village of Panauti, for example, or climb up to NamoBouddha, a sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism.

 

This is an opportunity for gentle trekking, with accommodation that is sometimes comfortable, making it a perfect family discovery.

In this area, walkers can progress along rivers or pass by Hindu or Buddhist temples in the villages. Here, the paths lead through small villages and rice paddies without major ascents or descents.

 

Depending on the season, you can watch the locals planting and harvesting rice and other plants and get a good, exotic insight into Nepalese village life. Tea shops along the way invite you to relax and enjoy a thirst-quenching cup of chia.

Top adventure trekking on the trails of the best-known Himalayan base camp has become increasingly popular around the world in recent years.

 

After arriving at one of the world’s highest airports in Lukla, you will continue your journey to the villages of Monjo and Jorsale, typical Sherpa towns – special package HERE – on the way to Everest. You will also cross some incredible trails to reach Namche Bazaar, which is the first point where you can rest and acclimatise for the EBC.

Namche is the last ‘town’ with local establishments, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops and therefore the last big easy refuelling point.

This hiking trail guides you through natural landscapes and the trek is a whirlwind of grandeur as you pass over the famous Hillary suspension bridge (named Edmund after the first mountaineer to climb Evrest), snow-capped mountains, green hills, immense meadows and valleys, glacier rivers and lakes.

The region is home to rare and endangered wildlife, including red pandas and black bears, as well as a wide variety of species such as hemitragus and monkeys.

An average of 5 to 6 hours’ walking per day on the trail and/or 600 to 800 metres of ascent and/or 15 kilometres.

A stopover in the village of Manang (3,500m) -extra trip HERE– and before that a number of possible walks, such as the Milarepa sanctuary at the foot of the slopes of Annapurna, or after Ngawal and its high village of shepherds in the parturages (4,200M).

A gradual acclimatisation with a diversion to Lake Tilicho, one of the highest in the world at 4,919m, then on to the Torong-La pass (5,416m) and the completely different, typically more arid landscape that is Mustang.
